Moving for Better Balance
In this class we use a gentle, meditative flow of Tai Chi combinations to address issues of balance, pain free joint range and concentration. No previous experience is necessary; no memorizing or “getting it right” is required. Chairs can be used for all or part--or none--of the class. This is a lively and dynamic class following Gary Sobol’s design, also using music and movement patterns to re-train our systems for ease and confidence in locomotion through space. We stretch and breathe deeply; flow through all the planes and axes of motion; “juice up” the joints. Games and props are used to increase spacial awareness, improve reaction to stimuli, and re-awaken areas of cognition.
