At the Y, strengthening community is our cause. The Y serves three crucial areas of focus to help individuals, families and communities learn, grow and thrive. Gary’s classes are taught at all BV YMCAs.
Promoting healthy spirit, mind and body for all. Come as you are and work out at your own pace. We have workouts and classes to fit everyone’s skills and needs. You can feel welcome. The Cheyenne YMCA welcomes all the Cheyenne community to attend Gary’s classes at their facility.
As part of the Denver YMCA, the Downtown YMCA helps people lead active, healthy lives. The Downtown Denver YMCA features a large gym, basketball courts, an indoor track, a cycling room, message therapy, and state-of-the-art fitness equipment, along with the latest fitness classes including yoga, Zumba®, and Pilates Reformer. Serving people of all ages, SilverSneakers® and senior activities for older adults. The Downtown Y also leads programs in disease prevention, community outreach, and youth development. Gary’s exercise program is part of the Denver downtown Y’s fitness plan.
Studies of people living with multiple sclerosis have shown that exercise can help with fatigue and depression, improve strength, and result in increased participation in social activities. National MS lists Gary’s classes as a resource in several states providing scholarships to people with MS to attend his exercise classes.
The King Adult Day Enrichment Program (KADEP) is an innovative, community-based and cost-effective day program alternative to nursing home placement for younger adults with MS, brain injury and other neurological conditions. KADEP provides a dynamic array of classes and activities, nursing care and other services designed to enhance the physical, emotional, cognitive and social wellbeing of each participant. Offering vital weekday respite and peace of mind to caregivers, KADEP strives to maximize the functioning, independence, wellness and life enjoyment of all who attend. Gary’s program is part of KADEP’s many resources.
The Broomfield Community Foundation’s purpose is to accept contributions and provide support through grants which benefit Broomfield citizens. BCF provides grant funding to the GZ Sobol Parkinson’s Network to ensure that Broomfield county residents continue to benefit from Gary’s exercise programs.
